This Position:

As the Maintenance/Renovation Technician working in our Maintenance Services Department, you will perform routine maintenance repair and other services on various TMG properties throughout the greater Vancouver area with an emphasis on more highly-skilled projects. Utilizing journeyman-level carpentry skills, you will construct and install building framework, inspect and repair damaged structures, install appliances and equipment, and perform other maintenance duties.

You Are:

  • Self-Directed: You always take initiative, and work extremely well independently. You can always be counted on to complete tasks to the best of your ability. You reach out for help when needed, but possess good judgment and know what is needed to accomplish your duties.
  • Detailed: You are meticulous in everything you do, and always notice the little things. You prefer to work as quickly and accurately as possible, while never sacrificing quality. You're easily able to identify problems, and take the time to correct them quickly and decisively.
  • Considerate: You take the utmost care when dealing with residents and tenants, and providing exceptional customer service is always at the forefront of your mind.
  • Educated and Experienced: You have a high school diploma or GED, and 3-6 years' related maintenance experience, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc. At least 2 years' experience performing renovation work is required.

You Will:

  • Employ advanced carpentry skills such as framing, finish carpentry/remodeling, drywall and painting, and window and door installation.
  • Construct building framework including walls, floors, roofs, and deck framing.
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework and other structures and fixtures.
  • Install bathtubs, tub surroundings, kitchen and bathroom p-traps, PVC repairs, toilets, sinks, dishwashers, and other appliances.
  • Perform a variety of exterior maintenance such as gutter repair or replacement, siding replacement, paint touch-up, and patch pavement.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as caulking around tub & water closet areas, attaching shower guards, removing covers from wall heaters, & cleaning.
  • Respond to emergency after-hours service requests on an on-call rotation with other maintenance technicians.
