This Position:

As the Assistant Painting Technician working in our Maintenance Services Department, you will provide direct support to the Painting Technician by performing incidental or preparatory work at various job sites, including supplying needed tools and materials, erecting scaffolding, smoothing and preparing surfaces, applying paint and other substances to surfaces, cleaning equipment, and assisting wherever needed.

You Are:

  • Self-Directed: You always take initiative, and work extremely well independently. You can always be counted on to complete tasks to the best of your ability. You reach out for help when needed, but possess good judgment and know what is needed to accomplish your duties. While you are social and friendly, you're happy with a solitary environment and independent work.
  • Detailed: You are meticulous in everything you do, and always notice the little things. You work quickly and efficiently, while never sacrificing the quality of your work.
  • Considerate: You take the utmost care when dealing with residents, vendors, and other TMG employees, and providing exceptional customer service is always at the forefront of your mind.
  • Educated and Experienced: You have a high school diploma/GED or a certification from a technical school and 1-3 years' previous painting experience. Property management industry experience is always a plus!

You Will:

  • Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisor or homeowner regarding painting specifications and job requirements.
  • Assist in the selection of premixed paints or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
  • Paint surfaces with brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers and applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects.
  • Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caul, putty, plaster, or other filler.
  • Erect scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
  • Spread drop cloths over floors and room furnishings and cover various other surfaces to protect them during painting.
  • Clean and care for brushes, spray guns, and other equipment
