This Position:

As the Construction Coordinator working in our Construction division, you will participate in managing various phases of a construction project with a focus on documentation, compliance, and coordination. You will participate in the creation of budgets, bid specifications, purchasing, and contract negotiations.  60% of your time will be spent in the office completing administrative duties and 40% will be spent in the field.

You Are:

  • A motivated self-starter who is detail-oriented, well-organized, and works well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experienced with at least 3 years of related experience in the construction field.
  • Skilled at reading blueprints.
  • Proficient with Excel and budgets.

You Will:

  • Monitor the construction schedules for various projects: inspect the work in progress; track change orders and timely follow-up; accept and record materials and supplies delivered to the site; communicate and collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals.
  • Monitor the purchasing process: participate in recruitment, negotiations, and selections of competent contractors and products; coordinate with material and supply chain vendors to bid all proposals and evaluate contract work; monitor contracted costs; research and introduce new, more effective products.
  • Maintain project-related documentation flow and adhere to the AIA contract documentation process.
  • Responsible for up-to-date distribution of all building and site plans at the site.
  • Track and ensure subs carry all necessary insurance.
  • Prepare construction contracts for execution and ensure compliance.
  • Develop work orders and issue POs when necessary.
  • Set up and maintenance of all billing folders.
  • Collect and coordinate subcontractor invoices.
  • Responsible for coding and approving invoices and contracts, coordinate lien releases, participate in preparation of draw requests, and set up utility services with local service providers. 
  • Provide monthly reports as requested. (i.e. production schedule, closings, budget status, and warranty work). 
  • Assist in obtaining development and building permits from municipalities, preparing construction budgets, and compiling project turnover documents.
  • Develop and keep current all safety/fall protection manuals required for the company.
  • Schedule and lead weekly meetings with trade representatives to insure safety and schedules are met.
