The Management Group, Inc. (TMG) was founded in 1985 by President, Carmen Villarma, as a single family property management company. Today, TMG has expanded into a conglomeration of five companies that encompass all aspects of property management: Single Family, Homeowner Associations, Multifamily, Commercial, Sales, and Maintenance Services. In total, as the largest property management company in Southwest Washington, TMG's portfolio is comprised of over 14,000 residential units throughout Washington and Oregon. We are proudly woman-owned and operated, and are an Equal Opportunity Employer.

From our humble beginnings with just two staff members, through tremendous dedication and entrepreneurial spirit, we are now a family of over 120 employees that are consistently striving to reach new heights, outperform our competitors, and achieve even greater success. At TMG, we expect a lot from our employees. In return, we promise to invest in you: we nurture and encourage career development, and promote from within. We are looking for those that exemplify and demonstrate our core values of Integrity and Respect, Teamwork, Passion for Results, Innovation, and Customer Service.

This Position:

As the Leasing Consultant working in our dynamic Multi-family department, you will show and lease apartments to prospective tenants at a brand-new, 135-unit apartment complex in Vancouver. This property is the most recent addition to TMG, and will be a lease-up. You'll work hand-in-hand with the property manager and an on-site maintenance technician, ensuring processes at the community run smoothly, and cultivating positive and professional relationships with residents and vendors.

You Are:

  • Customer Service-Oriented: You have a positive, friendly attitude, and are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure our residents are satisfied and feel cared for. You seek to understand prospective tenants' needs, wants, and goals, and work closely with them to find them their next perfect home.
  • Communication Pro: You seamlessly manage hundreds of emails and phone calls from apartment-hunters with ease and expertise. You are friendly and outgoing, and easily connect with people of all walks of life. You have a thick skin, and are able to manage aggressive or angry clients with kindness and professionalism. You understand the importance of timeliness, and always respond to inquiries in a sensible manner.
  • An Expert Multitasker: You adeptly juggle your numerous duties, and are able to switch gears to focus on a new task at a moment's notice. You work quickly, but strive to ensure accuracy in all work you produce. You're used to being interrupted in the middle of a project, and recover quickly from any disruptions.
  • A Dedicated Team Player: You always comport yourself in the best way, whether you're working on a task independently or with others. You follow directions to a T, and can be counted on to complete whatever is asked of you. Humble and trustworthy, you take ownership when making a mistake, and ensure company best practices are adhered to.
  • Educated and Experienced: You have high school diploma or a GED, and are well-versed in the Microsoft Office suite. Due to the particulars of this position, one to two years' of previous property management experience is essential.

You Will:

  • Utilize sales skills and techniques to lease apartments through your knowledge of market conditions, competition, and amenities on the property and in the surrounding area.
  • Respond to inquiries, process rental applications, lease properties, prepare paperwork, perform lease signing, and conduct move-in inspections.
  • Assist in rent collections and the posting of notices, and provide other administrative support as needed.
  • Maintain all property file checklists, tenant database files, and a property leasing binder, in addition to the proper filing of all resident documents.
  • Prepare and host resident functions and activities on a monthly basis.

What We Offer You:

  • A competitive salary, with commissions on all leases and renewals.
  • A company-issued cell phone or a monthly cell reimbursement.
  • A generous benefits package with three different medical plan options, as well as vision and dental group plans.
  • $10,000 company-paid term life insurance policy.
  • Voluntary additional benefits, including insurance through AFLAC, cafeteria plan and flexible spending, short-term disability, term life, and AD&D insurance.
  • Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
  • 401(k) and educational assistance.
  • A fantastic working environment, with business casual Fridays.
  • A catered lunch provided by the company once per month.
  • Exceptional training and career development, ensuring you have the necessary skills to take you exactly where you want to go.
